The centre offers free, independent information, assessment and advice on equipment that can improve the independence and safety of older and disabled people in everyday activities.
The centre is part of the Integrated Community Equipment Service - a partnership between the NHS and Liverpool City Council and is a fully accredited member of the national Disabled Living Centres Council (DLCC).
Liverpool Disabled Living Centre provides:
- An information service covering over 20,000 products
- A permanent display of over 2,000 products
- Individual equipment assessment with an occupational therapist for people who live in Liverpool
- Regular OPEN DAYS that also feature specialist advice on walking aids, seating, benefits and consumer issues
- The opportunity for people to see and try equipment
- Chair and bed assessment sessions covering high seat, riser, recliner and made to measure chairs and profiling beds
- Lift advice sessions for people who live in Liverpool who are considering purchasing their own stair lift, vertical lift or step lift
- Special equipment demonstration days
- Advice on how to obtain equipment and sources of funding
- Free fact sheets and information packs on a huge range of equipment and services.
Vistis are by appointment except on open days.
The centre does not sell or buy equipment.
